Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards will undergo an arthroscopic procedure on his right knee on Thursday. The procedure is expected to sideline him for up to two months. Edwards had previously been listed as questionable before a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he recorded a season-high 41 minutes and 47 points.
The two-month absence prevents Edwards from reaching the 65-game threshold required for MVP and All-NBA honors. Meeting those criteria would have made him eligible for a four-year, $304 million supermax extension beginning in the 2029-30 season.
