Deebo Samuel has agreed to a one-year, $7 million contract with the San Francisco 49ers. The deal was reported by ESPN/NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Samuel, aged 30, previously played six seasons for the 49ers after being selected in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. During his time there he recorded 1,405 receiving yards and 365 rushing yards in 2021, earning All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors.
The 49ers are currently dealing with injuries to several wide receivers including Ricky Pearsall, who has appeared in just 20 of 32 regular season games since joining the team, and Christian Kirk, who suffered a calf injury on opening day of training camp. Samuel is expected to play the "Z" receiver position.
