Delete Your TOPICAL Account

Applies to the TOPICAL website and TOPICAL mobile apps

You can permanently delete your TOPICAL account and the personal data associated with it at any time. This page explains how to request deletion and exactly what happens to your data when you do.

How to Delete Your Account

Deletion is available directly in the app, at any time:

  1. Sign in to your TOPICAL account, on topical.live or in the TOPICAL mobile app.
  2. Open Account, then go to Settings.
  3. Scroll to the Delete Account section.
  4. Type your exact username into the confirmation field.
  5. Tap Permanently Delete Account.

Deletion happens immediately - there is no additional waiting period or approval step once you confirm.

Can't Sign In?

If you no longer have access to your account, you can still request deletion. Use the Contact Support form on the About TOPICAL page and include the email address associated with your account so we can verify it's you. We'll process the request manually and confirm by email once it's complete.

What Gets Deleted

The following is removed permanently from TOPICAL's active systems:

What Is Kept

Topics and comments you posted publicly remain visible on TOPICAL after your account is deleted, so existing discussions aren't broken for other participants. They are stripped of any identifying link to your account: your username is replaced with "Anonymous" and there is no way for anyone, including TOPICAL, to trace that content back to you afterward.

Retention Period

Once you confirm deletion, your account and the personal data listed above are removed from TOPICAL's active systems immediately. Residual copies may briefly persist in routine backups before being cycled out; they are not accessible through normal use of the app and are not used for any purpose.

Questions
